Important Information

All lifting equipment must be used in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations and standards applicable in the country of use. In the UK, this includes the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).

Before Use

• Inspect the equipment carefully before each use for signs of damage, wear, or deformation.
• Ensure the working load limit (WLL) is clearly marked and never exceeded.
• Check that all nuts, bolts and locking mechanisms are secure.
• Verify the beam or girder dimensions are within the stated adjustment range of the clamp.
• Ensure the equipment is correctly rated for the intended application.
• Only trained and competent persons should operate lifting equipment.

During Use

• Never use lifting equipment for purposes other than those for which it is designed.
• Ensure loads are balanced and secure before lifting.
• Keep the working area clear of personnel not involved in the lifting operation.
• Do not make sudden movements or jerks during lifting operations.
• Never leave a suspended load unattended.
• In the event of any doubt about the safety of the operation, stop immediately.

Maintenance & Inspection

• All lifting equipment must be subjected to thorough examination at regular intervals by a competent person.
• Under LOLER (UK), lifting equipment must be thoroughly examined at least every 6 or 12 months depending on use.
• Keep written records of all inspections and examinations.
• Remove from service immediately any equipment that shows signs of damage or deterioration.
• Equipment must not be modified or repaired without authorisation from the manufacturer.
• Store equipment in a clean, dry environment when not in use.

Working Load Limit (WLL)

The Working Load Limit (WLL) is the maximum load that equipment is designed to carry under normal conditions of use. The WLL is clearly marked on each product. Never exceed this limit under any circumstances. The WLL takes into account a safety factor built into the design; however, this factor does not allow for shock loading, side loading, or use in applications outside the stated design parameters.
